In December 2010, Mohammed Bouazizi started a new Arab world order campaign by burning himself. This guy is a great leader he took the initiative to start a great change by him being a leader for two hours before he sacrificed his life for the benefit of others!
Before I continue, I want to say THANK YOU to our great leader.
The campaign for change had started, the Arab nation with all its components decided to follow each others in calling for freedom and better life after years of prosecuting.
But the question now….WHAT IS NEXT?
Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and hopefully Syria and Yemen are going through all this change. And now some of them are going into this long dark period of transition. What kind of political system will they follow? How are they going to manage all that after years of dictatorship?
Between all this chaoses the voice of Islamists is raising calling for Islamic states in countries with Islamic majority. On the other hand, there are others calling for secular states taking Turkey as a role model to prove that they are right.
IS THE CASE STUDY OF TURKEY APPLICABLE IN OTHER ARAB COUNTRIES?
Well, that all depends on what the people want. Can we all know if the Turkish people would like to have an Islamic state? It is not possible to know because the army is the guard of secularism there.
In addition, the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had been imprisoned after giving this poem in a speech:
“The mosques are our barracks,
the domes our helmets,
the minarets our bayonets
and the faithful our soldiers...”
You think people forgot that Erdogan is an Islamist? Then why is the majority voting for him?
Still, Erdogan is leading his country towards success using economic plans and developments which is the best way to establish a strong state.
The situation in the Arab might be different, who is going to protect secularism?
So Islam might see the light in countries like Egypt or Yemen. But as a consequence, Islam means a threat to a lot of people and nations who do not understand what it is all about: Christians and Capitalists.
Capitalists:
All what they care for is money, making more money and making profits. Islam is an obstacle against that because it has that “zakat” system which means 2.5% of your money for the state or in other words the poor people every year.
Moreover, what they claim to be human rights will be the way they will fight Islam. As we have seen, human rights were a big issue in Libya, but not in Syria so it depends if the country had oil or natural resources.
Christians:
Just small notification for Arab Christians, the people who we share with them same language and culture, our brothers and sisters in the entire Arab region. The only ones who will offer you protection and security in the Arab world are the Muslims themselves. Iraq is a good case study; attacks on Christians never took place before the American invasion in 2003. Furthermore, the Quran itself secures the rights of non Muslims in an Islamic state and they should not fear it.
Islam as an ideology is not a bad idea in the region, as long as the majority wanted it. But the trouble relies in:
Who is eligible enough to make this law or this system correctly?
What life conditions are the Arabs living in to force such harsh and strict laws on them?
Will Islam be a solution in this period of time?
Most of the uprisings took place because on economic hardship and the best way to make the people satisfied is to make a better economy and a stronger state. So now we have to go back to the Turkish case study, we cannot apply Islam in all its rules these days. An Islamic economic system would be a good solution or a good start point to start with. The next leaders should be wise in what to choose, regarding international relations and economy.
Step by step is the way through, we climb stairs step by step and we end up on the top. That’s how we should build our future in the area; radical change will bring radical disasters on our life. Let’s be wise enough and build what we believe as best way to organize our lives.
May god save our United Arab Nation
May god bless all our Martyrs of freedom.
Thank you
